Coppersmith Recruitment is excited to partner with a client in Lake Mary, FL, to find a skilled and detail-oriented Public Bookkeeper. In this role, you will manage financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You’ll play a crucial role in maintaining precise records and delivering insightful financial reporting that helps clients make well-informed business decisions. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Recordkeeping: Accurately maintain up-to-date financial records for various clients, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing general ledger entries.
- Accrual Accounting: Manage accrual accounting processes to ensure expenses and revenues are reported in the correct period, adhering to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Client Interaction: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their financial needs, provide guidance, and deliver customized bookkeeping services that align with their business goals.
- Compliance: Ensure all financial records meet regulatory standards, adhering to federal, state, and local laws, as well as accounting best practices.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports, providing clients with clear, actionable insights into their business performance.
- Tax Preparation Support: Assist clients in preparing documentation for tax filings, including identifying deductions and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online to manage financial data, process transactions, and generate reports.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Public Bookkeeper, or in a similar accounting role, with a deep understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Accounting Knowledge: Strong understanding of accrual accounting, as well as knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online is required as these tools are used daily in this role.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in managing financial records and transactions.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze financial data and provide clear insights to clients to help them make strategic business decisions.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification or other relevant accounting qualifications.
- Familiarity with additional accounting software or ERP systems.
