Machine Operator - 2nd, 3rd, and Weekend Shifts!

Title: Machine Operator

Job Overview: Multiple positions available across different operational levels! Some training may be required on 1st shift before transitioning to off-shift. Job responsibilities include safely setting up and maintaining continuous operation of machine to produce quality products in necessary quantities to meet production requirements supporting the Company's strategic plan and goals for growth and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) applicable to machine being operated
• Perform machine setup
• Maintain continuous machine operation at established machine run speeds
• Monitor various machine settings applicable to machine being operated
• Perform and record Quality testing
• May be required to safely operate fork truck to move raw materials and in-process stock; may be required to obtain fork truck license
• Report daily production / scrap
• Abide to Copperweld's safety, quality and environmental standards

Position Requirements:

• Manufacturing experience preferred
• Ability to develop and maintain knowledge, skills, and proficiency to perform multiple machine operations
• Flexibility to work on any shift and to include continuous operations
• Team player and self-starter
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to achieve proficiency working with Plex: manufacturing, quality, etc.

Safety Requirements:

• Must wear safety shoes with steel toe and metatarsal guard, safety glasses with side shields and safety ear protection (company provided)
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and may require up to heavy strength lifting, pushing and pulling weight requirements, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc.
• Must understand and comply with Hazard Communication and Hazardous Waste management guidelines (company training provided)
