Working directly with COR’s experienced Financial Controller, you’ll be an integral part of a growing finance & accounting team. The Sr. Accountant will help leadership manage vital areas of the business today, as well as will execute on our vision to bring together public, private, and philanthropic orgs in-order to make an even larger environmental and social impact in our community.

As a key member COR’s accounting team, you’ll be responsible for the following:
- Conduct balance sheet and bank account reconciliations for multiple entities. Own the general ledger accounts. Ensure costs hit appropriate subsidiaries and departments.
- Review and perform the monthly closing process, including assisting with financial analysis and financial reporting.
- Submit deposits to banking institutions and ensure accurate cash management.
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset schedules.
- Collaborate with departments to gather necessary information for accurate financial reporting. Provide reporting to various departments. Ad hoc reporting.
- Help develop best practices and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Mentor and support the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely postings.
- Continuously investigate opportunities in NetSuite and other applications to improve operations and efficiency. Implement process improvements.
- Manage personal and real property tax schedules and payments. File e-Zone and other real/personal property tax returns. Assist with tax audits and tax return data compilation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed by the direct Manager.
- 4 years’ experience in accounting with bachelor’s degree or commensurate accounting experience required.
- 2 years in an industrial organization (construction, manufacturing, real estate, waste management) preferred.
- Solid understanding of GAAP.
- Previous work with multiple entities and consolidated statements (S-Corp, Partnerships, disregarded entities, non-profits)
- Strong Excel capabilities, prefer advanced skills
- Demonstrated record of excelling in an operational environment requiring leadership, management, and analytical skills to build a foundation for success
- Knowledge of how to develop performance accounting systems and record financial data that will help leadership gain the insights needed to be more successful.
