Schedule of Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, some weekend/evening hours
Possible Percentage of Work from Home: 50%

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
As the only agency in San Mateo County with the sole purpose of serving those experiencing intimate partner abuse, CORA provides safety, support, and healing. CORA’s comprehensive services include a 24-hour hotline, collaboration with law enforcement, safe house options, legal services, and family-centered mental health therapy. In addition, CORA provides community education and prevention programming throughout the county. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Development Specialist will be responsible for supporting Development efforts in the areas of foundations, gift processing, reporting, special events and marketing. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail and must be well-organized and aware of and committed to strict deadlines. This role will be instrumental in helping to grow foundation and individual revenue streams as well as maintaining well-run systems and processing. CORA is seeking someone who is collaborative, creative, and has a mindful approach to their work and interactions with others. Must also be able to thrive in a faced-paced and fluid environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES
Development and Special Events
- Responsible for donor gift entries
- Produce donor thank you letters that are timely and accurate
- Run donor data analysis reports, as requested
- Produce donor giving data for accounting, generated from online giving platforms
- Support the design, implementation and execution of special events
Government and Foundation Grants
- Maintain and monitor government funding administrative task tracking spreadsheets
- Compile necessary materials needed for grant and foundation reports
- Assist in foundation and grant prospects research
- Assist in report writing and, when appropriate, assist in proposal writing
Marketing and Communications
- Maintain CORA's client story bank, ensuring new stories are added and shared with the Development Team
- Collect and store photos from CORA events
- Assist with the creation and oversight of campaign pages
This position may be asked to support additional Development team activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience using donor databases, inputting data, and managing data segmentation.
- Strong writing skills to clearly articulate a compelling case for supporting CORA’s mission
- Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred
- 1-2 years’ experience in development or fundraising strongly preferred
- Valid CA Driver’s license and willing to travel for work related events
- Must be willing to be in the San Mateo city office 2-3 times a week at minimum and able to attend and support local San Mateo County donor events on site
- Bilingual in Spanish / English preferred
