IT Specialist
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will handle technical support duties for the Coral Academy of Science Reno. The Technology Specialist position is an exciting opportunity for a results-oriented professional to assure the efficiency and effective use of technology.
The IT Specialist provides technical guidance for resolving complex end-user issues across a wide spectrum of hardware, software, network connectivity, and other computer-related problems. This role encompasses supporting a variety of devices including PCs, laptops, tablets, SmartBoards, and hybrid hardware/software imaging setups, along with tasks such as configuring and setting up systems. Responsibilities also extend to educational technologies, phone installation, troubleshooting mobile devices and PC hardware/software, and collaborating with the IT team to deliver necessary technical assistance.
Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Possess system administration expertise across various operating systems including Windows Server, Windows OS, Mac OS, Chrome OS, and Google Workspace applications.
- Serve as a key technical contributor in the development, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrading of IT infrastructure and systems, encompassing AV, Meeting Services, PCs, operating systems, software, hardware, and peripherals.
- Demonstrate proficiency in standard networking equipment and design standards for both voice and data networks.
- Coordinate and facilitate the setup of audio-visual equipment.
- Oversee the storage and redistribution of classroom equipment during extended school breaks (winter, spring, and summer).
- Maintain asset management systems and handle paperwork related to equipment assignment, recovery, disposal.
- Collaborate with vendors to organize repairs and manage the return of repaired equipment to schools.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling the effective presentation and explanation of technology solutions to staff using non-technical language.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in the area of specialty or related field from accredited schools and 3 years of related work experience.
- School IT experience (preferred)
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Cisco CCNA are a plus.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
