Position Summary : Serves as an advanced clinically-based practitioner with the following domains : performance improvement, clinical practice / clinical consultation, education, research utilization and leadership. In these roles, the Nursing Performance Improvement Coordinator has the primary function of meeting the needs of the patient, staff member and physician. As a role model, the Nursing PI Coordinator utilizes nursing, patient improvement strategies, and education theories as a foundation for clinical practice. The Nursing Performance Improvement Coordinator is an integral member of the interdisciplinary health care team working collaboratively with others. This role functions as an "expert" nurse who facilitates the development of system and process improvement of the nursing; while simultaneously advancing professionalism in nursing, specifically in the areas of clinical practice, educations, research utilization and leadership.
Qualifications / Requirements
Education
Graduate from School of Nursing.
Required licensures / certifications
Current Florida License as a Registered Nurse, Practical nurse or Foreign Physician.
Skills and Abilities
Possess the ability to develop and implement organizational strategies to address opportunities to improve the clinical practice of nursing. Critically analyze data, track and trend and create visual representation of data.
Must have a strong grasp of computer functionality and use of Microsoft word and excel programs. Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record strongly preferred.
Experience
Knowledge of evidence based medicine practices. Knowledge of current clinical practice in performance improvement concepts. Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
