- Conduct pre-hike safety briefings, ensuring guests understand trail difficulty, hydration needs, and environmental considerations.
- Assess and mitigate potential risks on trails, making adjustments as needed based on weather and terrain conditions.
- Carry and maintain first aid kits, responding to minor injuries or emergencies as needed.
- Ensure Leave No Trace principles are followed to maintain environmental integrity.
- Provide excellent guest service, fostering an engaging and welcoming atmosphere.
- Assist with transporting guests to trailheads using resort vehicles, ensuring proper safety procedures.
- Maintain and inspect hiking gear and equipment, reporting any maintenance or inventory needs.
- Support other outdoor recreation activities and wellness programs as assigned.
- Valid Utah driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (required for guest transportation).
- Completion of First Aid training within the first month of employment (CPR/AED preferred).
- Strong knowledge of local hiking trails, terrain, and outdoor navigation.
- Previous experience as a hiking guide, outdoor educator, or adventure leader preferred.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills, with a passion for outdoor adventure.
- Ability to hike long distances, navigate varied terrain, and carry a backpack with necessary gear.
- Comfortable working early mornings, weekends, and holidays based on tour schedules.
