Sunriver Resort is seeking a friendly and service-oriented Player’s Assistant to ensure an exceptional golf experience for our guests. The Player’s Assistant is responsible for monitoring the pace of play as well as enforcing golf rules to ensure overall guest satisfaction. The Player’s Assistant will maintain the AAA Four Diamond standards.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities
- Greets and welcomes guests upon arrival
- Responsible for getting guests on the course in a timely and informed manner
- Obtains a copy of day’s sheet and a radio for communications
- Encourages guests making their turns to visit the designated F&B outlet
- Verifies names on tee sheets
- Obtains a receipt from groups, writes transaction numbers on sheets
- On tee sheets, keeps track of and writes down cart numbers or walking, actual start time, turn time, finish time, etc.
- Monitors pace of play
- Maintains a strong knowledge of USGA rules of golf
- Enforces golf attire rules
- Informs group of any pertinent information, i.e. topdressing, delays, unusual course maintenance, KP/LD contest, pace of play, etc.
- Keeps immediate area neat and free of litter
- Performs Outside Guest Services’ duties as required
- Enforces all USGA and Sunriver rules and regulations with firmness and diplomacy
- Maintains communication with golf shop to ensure smooth operation
- Provides daily pace of play to golf shop
- Monitors restrooms for cleanliness, cleans if necessary
- Ensures cart is maintained and in functioning order daily
- At the end of shift, ensures the cart is washed and properly stored
- Carries rules and decisions book and offers knowledge to guests if necessary
- Maintains all ropes and stakes placed on the golf course to direct traffic for course playability
- Contacts appropriate party, if necessary, when a guest problem is reported
- Provides general resort information for guests
- Offers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guest
- Resolves guest problems and is empowered to act in absence of manager
- Maintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special events
- Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
- Up sells other resort services and amenities to guests
- Always maintains a professional demeanor and attitude
- Communicates all pertinent information to the Golf team
- High school education required
- Prior hospitality experience preferred
- At least one year customer service experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of the game of golf required
- Must be able to read, write and speak English
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, cold, sun & heat);
- Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces;
- Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs;
