The Staff Accountant will be responsible for numerous mid-level financial accounting functions related to the Company’s corporate and real estate Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Cash Receipt systems in order to enable team members to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives. This role can be hybrid onsite/remote.

- Accounts Receivable duties as assigned, including but not limited to posting of payments, ensuring accuracy of invoices, reconciliation of hotel ledgers, communication with clients.
- Accounts Payable duties as assigned, including but not limited to verification and distribution of payable invoices, vendor account statement reconciliation, checkbook maintenance, assist with vendor verification, reporting.
- Audit income journal on a daily basis.
- Works with Supervisor in overseeing their respective department accounts.
- Process and manages daily revenues.
- Provide accounting information to managers and others within the company; explain accounting transactions; resolve accounting issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain accounts receivable balance sheet accounts by monthly reconciliations, entries, and reviews.
- Inspect cash on hand, notes receivable and payable, negotiable securities, and canceled checks to confirm records are accurate.
- Post charges for vacation rental units.
- Assist in payroll functions as needed.
- Proficient knowledge of software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software including advanced skills in Excel.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of General Ledger functions, reconciliation processes, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams like finance and operational teams.
- Skilled in influencing the business via written communication, specifically email.
- Ability to reconcile and resolves differences on various bank account and general ledger accounts.
- Ability to focus on accuracy and precision in managing financial records and transactions.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities during reporting periods.
- Ability to ensure accurate reporting and compliance on general ledger accounts.
- Ability to adjust to changing accounting standards and organizational needs.
- Ability to evaluate the impact of financial decisions and recommend improvements to accounting processes.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and professionalism.
- Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements.
- No adverse or hazardous conditions.
- Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance.
