What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Services Coordinator position at Coralville Community Food Pantry?
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Family Services Coordinator serves as a critical point of contact for children, youth, and their families who need access to food and other vital resources. This position will be responsible for the smooth functioning and evaluation of the Food Pantry’s childhood nutrition programs, including School Break Nutrition & Summer Lunch, as well as provide routine resource referrals. The position will also provide operational support for the Food Pantry’s primary anti-hunger programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, direct, and evaluate the annual Coralville Summer Lunch Program.
- Oversee multi-yearly School Break Nutrition Program food distributions.
- Initiate and strengthen working relationships with Iowa City Community School District partners.
- Recruit and train volunteers to support childhood nutrition Programs.
- Fulfill necessary program reporting requirements.
- Co-develop collaborative interventions to improve childhood nutrition locally and statewide.
- Support Veggie Connect program participants through routine engagement and communication.
- Assist in the recruitment and training of Food Pantry volunteers.
- Provide routine operational support for the Food Assistance and Home Delivery programs.
- Maintain a positive, collaborative working style and solution-focused agenda as an example of leadership for direct reports and other colleagues.
- Maintain client and volunteer records.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, education, or related human services field preferred. Associate’s degree and 4 years of human services field experience will also be considered.
- Program coordination experience, preferably in a social service nonprofit or community organization setting.
- Strong understanding of systemic inequality and best practices in supporting individuals and families.
- Bilingual or knowledge of basic written and spoken Spanish or French is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
