What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1.0 FTE K-1st Multi-age Classroom Teacher 2025-26 position at CORBETT GRADE SCHOOL?
Corbett Grade School provides multi-age classrooms to foster stronger relationships between teachers, students, and their families. We also use continuous progress to ensure that individual students learn following a sequential and developmentally appropriate continuum of knowledge. In addition, we use Place-Based learning to develop knowledge of our local environment and community.
Essential Job Functions:
- Works as an effective team member
- Collaborates to plan place-based units with a focus on teaching multiple perspectives in history and ensuring those perspectives are represented throughout the entire instructional program
- Provides targeted instruction to facilitate student learning along a continuum
- Advises parents/guardians of student progress
- Prepares reports (e.g. progress reports, attendance, anecdotal records, etc.) for the purpose of providing documentation of teacher and student progress
- Creates a classroom environment that provides opportunities for the exchange of ideas, modeling of behaviors, practice of responsibility and nurturance, and development of leadership and social skills
- Maintains an environment that honors the diversity of students in the classroom and promotes the development and advancement of traditionally underserved populations
- Maintains regular and appropriate attendance and is on time for assignments
- Participates in various meetings (e.g. parent conferences, I.E.P./504 meetings, in-service training, site meetings, etc.)
- Accepts and carries out other duties as assigned for the purpose of meeting student and district needs
Job Requirements - Qualifications:
- Experience required: Prior job related experience preferred
- Skills, knowledge and/or abilities required: Prior knowledge of currently adopted instructional programs preferred (Units of study: Reading and writing and Bridges Math)
Skills to motivate students, communicate with individuals from varied educational and cultural backgrounds, direct support personnel and evaluate performance
Knowledge of age appropriate teaching methods, grade level content and state curriculum frameworks
Abilities to maintain records, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, parents, other school personnel, meet schedules and deadlines; adhere to and follow school district policies and procedures
