Based in Blair, Nebraska, the Senior Project Engineer is an individual contributor reporting to the Engineering & Technology Manager. This person is responsible for engineering efforts in both the lactic acid and lactates plants and will manage a myriad of capital projects with budgets ranging between $25k to $2MM.
Requirements :
- Produce accurate capital investment estimates and savings / return evaluations by incorporating various financial scenarios to provide a strong basis for decision making.
- Develop the stage gate details for projects to control risk, balanced with the upfront cost to minimize losses due to unfavorable projects.
- Utilize best practices of project management throughout the team to efficiently implement projects.
- Lead contract negotiations for the purchase of equipment or contractor services.
- Execute projects on time and within budget as outlined in capital requests, while establishing clear schedules and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for each project.
- Implement best practices of safety management for the Corbion project team and the construction contractors.
- Manage project closure and capitalization to the support the business’ capital Finance structure.
- Coordinate with QA, Technology, and Operations and Maintenance to assure training of operators and staff, maintainability, safety, quality and operability as a part of every project.
- Executes QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality.
- Performs within the guidelines of all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations.
