The Quality Assurance (QA) department helps Corcept achieve its clinical development, manufacturing, pharmacovigilance, and commercial goals in compliance with regulations and Corcept’s high ethical and technical standards. QA interns get an introduction to the biopharmaceutical industry through the wide-ranging lens of quality, helping Corcept navigate complex, diverse, and ever-evolving business, legal, regulatory, and technical contexts. A summer with QA helps prepare you for a career in the life sciences, information technology, regulatory compliance, or other complex technical fields.
You will gain real-world experience contributing to meaningful projects that advance Corcept’s goals. Most projects are designed to be completed during the internship, supported by multiple team members with diverse areas of expertise, and culminate in a final presentation. Of critical importance to Corcept in 2025, you would support inspection readiness activities as we prepare to file for the approval of new products.
Responsibilities:
- Projects could include reviewing, organizing, and digesting complex information and documentation ranging from chemical manufacturing specifications to clinical study reports
- Shadow QA team members in their work, including attending meetings ranging from simple weekly huddles to high-level strategy sessions
- Contribute to Corcept’s preparation for regulatory inspections in support of new products
- Deliver a department presentation at the end of the program
- Participate as a member of the 2025 intern team group project that includes a company-wide presentation
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and proven track record of teamwork, innovation, and initiative
- Strong organizational skills
- Capacity to quickly identify problems and create solutions
- Highly effective in communicating in written, verbal, and presentation forms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Passion for learning and ideally pursuing a career in the health care, biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries
- Must be able to complete at least 10 consecutive weeks between June and August and it is a full-time internship (40 hours per week)
- Must be able to work at our Redwood City office for the duration of the internship, no relocation available
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor's degree
The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $25/hr - $31/hr; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
