Come Join the Culinary Team as a Line Cook at Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club in Brewster.
Full time and seasonal positions available.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist. Know ingredients and communicate to front of house staff to ensure no allergies are compromised.
- Maintain adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures proper storage and refrigeration of same.
- Practice correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
- Prepare, maintain and monitor quality control for hot food items including, but not limited to, meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks and seasonings.
- Prepare proper plate and platter presentations for banquets; Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and food garnish.
- Interacts with guests while operating a clean, organized action station.
- Carve buffet meats as requested by guests.
- Set up for meal periods by ensuring that stations are set up based upon anticipated volumes.
- Keep equipment clean and in proper operating conditions.
- Complete food requisitions to maintain inventory items.
Our Cooks must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Good working knowledge of the fundamentals of cooking, including: broil, sauté and grill, the making of soups and sauces and general food preparation.
- Good working knowledge of accepted sanitation standards and state health codes for Massachusetts.
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
- Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to complete requisitions read recipes and communicate with other employees and managers.
- Sufficient manual dexterity of hands in order to use all kitchen tools, i.e. knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, etc.
- Ability to perform duties in small spaces.
- Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
