Position Overview
Cordelio Power seeks to monitor, advocate for and advance clean energy policy and legislative goals that align with its project development goals and serve local communities. To further this mission, Cordelio seeks a Regulatory Affairs Professional (exact title commensurate with experience) who is motivated, highly organized, and detail-oriented to provide analytical, case management and other support to our regulatory affairs team.
The position reports to the Director, Regulatory Affairs and will work closely with outside counsel, members of senior leadership, consultants, and various departments within Cordelio who can be impacted by governmental policies as needed. This is a remote position with a fixed 12-month term, potentially leading to a full-time position. Preferred locations are Arkansas, Louisiana, or Mississippi, but all qualified candidates will be considered.

This role is responsible for managing a wide range of tasks related to the oversight, commercial operations, and development of new and existing utility-scale renewable energy power generation plants in Canada and the U.S. (wind, solar and storage). Working in a fast-paced environment, this individual will have the ability to work independently, prioritize, deliver against deadlines and pivot when necessary. The person best suited for this role is someone with excellent organizational and time management skills who thrives working in a dynamic, fast paced, and collaborative environment. - Regulatory analysis: Develop positions and analyses for key policy issues affecting Cordelio’s operations and development.
- Relationship building: Develop and build relationships with local energy market stakeholders, industry advocacy groups and peers in other IPPS, to assist in communicating Cordelio policy positions and impacts of policies on Cordelio’s development and operations.
- Internal business unit support and reporting: Inform Cordelio team members of major regulatory changes that would impact the organization’s operations and ability to comply with state policy goals and assist in compliance reporting and communications with regulatory agencies when necessary.
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years’ experience OR equivalent experience and at least 5 years of related energy and/or environmental policy experience.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the US energy market, including federal, state and market structures and procedures of various related agencies.
- Demonstrable understanding of renewable energy commercial project operations, management of portfolios of energy assets.
- Strong and professional writing and presentation skills (this position will be representing Cordelio within the industry). Candidates may be asked to submit writing samples.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain policy updates in a succinct manner to company leaders and co-workers not actively engaged in the field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with demonstrated impact in previous roles.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities to meet deadlines and escalate key issues.
- Possesses a strong work ethic and is comfortable taking initiative/working in a fast paced, start-up environment; and works well on diverse and highly collaborative internal teams and consultants.
- Demonstrates a strong interest and experience in power markets, specifically, an understanding of the impact of policy and regulations; and understands and is interested in the state-level policy and regulatory landscape and has a strong level of curiosity and desire to learn.
- Proficiency in MS Office and in particular Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows.
- Ability to travel ~15%
Salary & Benefits
- The salary range for this position is $120,000-$180,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
