Summary
Performs predictive, preventive, and corrective equipment maintenance for 24-hour bulk pharmaceutical manufacturing operation. Requires little to no supervision in the execution of work, and provides off-hour call in support on a rotating basis. This is a functional level position where the individual is expected to continue to develop and demonstrate skills and capabilities.

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), and 4 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to communicate technical details related to equipment and system engineering. Can describe and transcribe details of problems identified, work performed, and damage discovered.
Mathematical Skills
Apply basic algebra, geometry, measurements, and physics.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Performs predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance as directed. May train and develop others in the execution of activities
- Executes work in accordance with site regulatory requirements, internal policies, and procedures. Assures adherence by others
- Demonstrates a work approach strong in personal safety and good manufacturing practices. Maintains good housekeeping on jobs performed and in shop. Points out good approaches and concerns in work performance of others. Maintains departmental tools
- Creates and utilizes technical information and drawings for mechanical components and systems. Prepare and update equipment maintenance procedures
- Accurately documents work performed, damage observed, and cause of failure identified
- Utilizes computer systems, including the CMMS database, e-mail, and internet-based software
- Learns maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of equipment systems, equipment, and components. Learns from a combination of on-the-job training from Senior and Master Mechanical Technicians, as well as Lead Mechanics, written training documentation, external training, and other resources. Applies learning in daily work
- With little to no supervision, performs assigned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, equipment modification, and new equipment installation tasks using written and verbal instructions
- Complies and assures compliance with GMP, Environmental, Health & Safety, and company policies and requirements
- Activities may include structural demolition of buildings and equipment, with focus on dismantling and salvage
- Other duties as assigned by Maintenance and Utilities Lead Mechanics
- Progresses to Senior Mechanical Technician

- Proven/demonstrated mechanical aptitude with ability to use technical documentation and drawings for maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and improvements of mechanical components and systems
- Maintenance mechanic will gain and apply knowledge, skill and ability in industrial equipment maintenance, including but not limited to rotating equipment, chemical process equipment, lubrication, hand tools, power tools, measurements, lifting equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, piping, pipefitting, and utility systems
- Manual dexterity with knowledge and ability to work with construction/demolition equipment to include the potential to operate hand and power tools of all types
- Proficient with the CMMS, e-mail, spreadsheet, and word processing software
Actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
