Job Summary:
The Cordia team is seeking an Energy Analyst Asset Manager responsible for managing fuel procurement and energy market participation for Cordia’s combined heat and power, district energy and behind the meter energy assets in the eastern United States. A successful candidate will develop and implement a strategy to optimize the fuel procurement and revenues from behind the meter power purchase agreements, PJM market participation, and environ mental credits sales. This role will require close collaboration with several teams across the company, including Accounting, Operations, Engineering, and Commercial. The employee will also be active in the routine management of forecasting energy costs and revenues, participate in monthly P&L review and variance analysis, interfacing with markets, and various regulatory requirements. This position will report to the East Region President.

- THIS IS A REMOTE/HYBRID ROLE - PREFERENCE TO BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES RESIDING WITHIN A REASONABLE COMMUTE (PERIODICAL) TO EITHER PRINCETON, NJ, HARRISBURG, PA OR PITTSBURGH, PA
- Develop and implement strategies for fuel procurement of Cordia power plants, district energy, and combine heat and power assets
- Work with plant operations leadership to implement hedging and other procurement strategies.
- Monitor and analyze energy market trends, prices, and regulations to identify opportunities and risks and update plans accordingly.
- Work directly with third party consultants to oversee market participate of Cordia assets in the PJM energy and capacity markets.
- Prepare and submit, reports, and documentation required by regulatory agencies and market monitor.
- Support the preparation annual budgeting process for Cordia assets providing inputs-based forecasting of energy revenues and costs using market forecasts and other available data.
- Participate in monthly P&L reviews and operational reviews of asset performance.
- Collaborate with Cordia customers to develop risk and procurement strategies for energy services provided by Cordia assets.
- Support with business development team to evaluate new project and opportunities.
- Participate in due diligence of potential acquisition targets with exposure or participate to energy markets.
- Analyze financial and operational data and make recommendations to improve financial performance of Cordia owned energy assets.
- Manage purchase and trading of renewable energy credits for Cordia energy facilities.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, PMP) is a plus.
- Experience:
- A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a role focusing on asset management, energy procurement, energy analytics, energy trading, or consulting within the energy sector.
- Experience with fossil fuel power generation is a plus
- Experience with one or more RTOs/ISOs wholesale markets, PJM is a plus.
- Skills:
- Self-motivated to achieve success within a rapidly evolving cross functional work environment.
- Basic understanding of fundamental power generation concepts and operations.
- A basic understanding of power and natural gas commodity prices and markets
- Some familiarity with various commercial structures including power purchase agreements, tolls, various hedging structures and long/open merchant positions.
- Exposure to various spreadsheet-based models for engineering, operating, financing or M&A purposes.
- Ability to think critically, analyze complex problems with no clear solutions, exercise good judgment, defend conclusions before senior management and make sound decisions.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid or remote environment demonstrating initiative and self-motivation.
- Ability to interact and communicate well with individuals in all areas of the Company and outside vendors.
- Maintain the highest standards of conduct and integrity in all dealings inside and outside the organization.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and various other business applications.
