Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Departments: Accounting and Human Resources
- Ensure proper, timely financial reporting for the Company and all third-party relationships.
- Manage cash flow for internal and external relationships.
- Collaborate with ownership to provide financial insights and recommendations for business decisions.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze, and monitor variances.
- Manage banking relationships, from treasury to lending. Ensure compliance with covenants of loan documents.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and industry specific financial requirements.
- Liaison with outside accounting firm for tax preparation and/or audits.
- Liaison with insurance firms for annual property/GL/umbrella renewals along with annual health insurance renewal.
- Review and analyze financials and/or business plans for prospective tenants.
- Review and analyze prospective lease terms to ensure alignment with the Company’s long-term goals.
- Foster and develop third-party engagements to ensure the growth of this business segment.
- Liaison with outside IT firm for all technological orders, troubleshooting and updating.
- Research and implement financial systems and technologies to improve operational efficiency.
- Build and mentor a high performing accounting team, fostering our client's culture.
- Provide training and development opportunities to strengthen the team’s capabilities.
- A degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field. A master’s degree, such as an MBA, is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in accounting and finance
- Managerial and decision-making skills, as well as the ability to partner with an executive team and communicate effectively.
- Proactive, ability to work independently with limited supervision or prompting from management.
- Analytical and strategic skills, as well as the ability to offer financial and organizational planning suggestions.
- Strong teamwork orientation, initiative, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Understanding and experience to work effectively in a family business environment. Awareness of unique challenges that come with a family business structure.
- Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Office and pertinent web application skills at an intermediate level; knowledge of SharePoint and Appfolio (accounting software) is a plus.
- Prior real estate experience a plus.
