Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is working with a mid-sized services firm searching for a Controller/Director of Accounting role to oversee all accounting operations, reporting to the CFO.
Candidate will be charged with leading, developing, and auditing all accounting activities for the firm, and will be ideally in the office in Metairie, Louisiana 5 days per week.

Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is working with a mid-sized services firm searching for a Controller/Director of Accounting role to oversee all accounting operations, reporting to the CFO.
Candidate will be charged with leading, developing, and auditing all accounting activities for the firm, and will be ideally in the office in Metairie, Louisiana 5 days per week.
Candidate will be responsible for:
- Oversight of all Accounting functions to include AP, AR, GL, Collections, and Month-End close and Financial Statement Prep
- Hiring, developing, and retention of accounting team members
- Oversight of team of 3
- Working with CFO to automate and develop policies, procedures, and expectations for all associates
- Cross-functionally working with sales, marketing, and operations to make sure all financial activities are correct and accurate
- Supporting all efforts to streamline Sage Intacct system for team
- Ability to complete all month/quarter/year-end activities on time for Executive leadership and investors
Candidate should have the following background:
- 10 years of experience in an accounting function
- 5 years in a Manager/Director-level function
- BS Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar major from an accredited institution
- Previous experience hiring and developing staff
- Sage Intacct experience strongly preferred, but other experience with other ERP systems will be considered
- “Can do” attitude
- Strong communication skills to speak with accounting team, non-financial users, and executive team alike
- Excel skills to include pivottables, vlookups, and macros
- Report generation skills
- Ability to explain how accounting results impact operations, sales, and other areas of the firm
