Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert has partnered with a large, respected professional services firm in Virginia Beach that is searching for a Senior Accountant.
This is a direct hire, full time role with compensation in the range of $85,000 to $100,000. Our client is seeking candidates who have all or 1 of the 3 characteristics:
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
- Experience with a Publicly Traded Company
- Experience in Public Accounting
Candidate will be responsible for:
- Booking journal entries
- Month/Quarter/Year-end close activities
- Reconciliations (bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.)
- Identifying gaps in GL functions and making recommendations
- Preparing financial statements
- Assisting with sales and use tax activities
- Working with fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Potentially working with partnership tax experience
Candidate should have the following background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar business-related degree area from a respected college or university
- 3 years of experience as a Staff or Senior GL Accountant, ideally with a $250 million revenue company
- Strong GL experience in various areas
- Experience with processing sales and use tax
- Partnership tax experience preferred, but not required
- Fixed assets experience preferred, but not required
- ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Netsuite, etc.)
- Strong Excel experience (data entry, formulas, etc.)
- Strong analytical mindset and ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to take direction from leadership and apply strategy to completing tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
