Senior SEC & Financial Reporting Manager
Job Description
The Role: The position has high visibility to the CFO, CAO/Controller, and Senior Management. Responsibilities include the preparation of SEC filings, along with technical accounting research and special projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-Q/K, in addition to high involvement in 8-K and Proxy statement filings.
- Preparation of financial statements and other financial data for press releases, audit committee communications, and supplemental investor information.
- Keep current with existing and emerging financial accounting and reporting principles, assess their applicability to the company and proactively advise the Controllership.
- Review, analyze, and document new and complex technical accounting issues as they arise.
- Support accounting and reporting for share-based compensation, earnings per share, segment reporting, debt and equity transactions, alternative financial assets, non-GAAP reporting, lease accounting, and ESG, amongst other topics.
- Proactively work with external auditors and advisors on key accounting and reporting issues.
- Coordinate and partner with various internal groups (Accounting, HR, Legal, FP&A, Marketing, IT) and external groups (auditors, consultants/advisors) to facilitate SEC filings and technical accounting issues.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills and accountability to meet deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with established internal controls for areas of responsibility.
- Look for opportunities to automate, improve workflows, and implement efficiencies in all areas.
- Demonstrated experience with ASC 606 and software revenue recognition accounting standards, ensuring accurate recognition of revenue across multiple business lines as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to align revenue recognition policies with company goals.
Qualifications
- 5 years of accounting experience required in Financial Reporting role for public company
- Prior Big 4 experience preferred Active CPA license required
- BS Accounting degree required
- MS Office proficiency required – strong Excel skills a must
- Experience working with U.S. GAAP and technical accounting research software
- Knowledge of SEC rules and requirements
- Experience with XBRL tagging and use of SEC filing software.
- Strong technical accounting writing and research skills.
