Overview

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Field Engineer with outstanding communication skills and field experience who will assist the Construction Manager in the daily management, reporting, communications, operations, coordination, and general administrative needs of projects assigned. Individuals must be able to manage multiple tasks, exhibit strong organizational skills, and have a basic understanding of design and construction. The current position is located in Long Beach, on campus at Long Beach City College (LBCCD), where Cordoba Corporation has been the prime consultant for the LBCCD Bond Program Management Team since 2006, providing comprehensive program and construction management services. The $1.6 billion program covers more than 30 facilities across the campuses and remote sites spanning 144 square miles. Comprehensive services include site development and planning, area-wide planning, design management, project controls, financial analysis, program management, construction management and commissioning, community outreach, internal / external communications, and move management.

Responsibilities

  • Project Communications, including Meeting Minutes.
  • Receives, coordinates, and distributes all project correspondence.
  • Maintains records and tracks all meeting action items.
  • Assists Construction Manager (CM) with resolution of issues.
  • Creates, distributes, and maintains minutes for all project meetings.
  • Schedules project meetings
  • Develop tracking logs in Excel or other district PMIS software.
  • Assists the CM with all change management processes.
  • Assists in the management of project controls through district software.
  • Creates and / or manages RFI, ASI, CD, COR, and RFP logs.
  • Creates change management documents for approval by the CM.
  • Assists CM in monitoring daily work against the construction schedule.
  • Assists CM in the management of quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Tracks Submittals & Shop Drawings
  • Receives, records, and verifies compliance for all submittals.
  • Disseminates submittals to appropriate individuals for review.
  • Tracks, logs, and files submittals
  • Maintains Record Documents
  • Keeps project history by maintaining a chronological timeline of project photographs.
  • Updates As-Built drawings, as required.
  • Prepares closeout documents for DSA certification and turnover of project to district.

Qualifications

Degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related discipline is required.

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in construction management / construction administration in educational and / or public works projects in California.
  • Knowledge of construction management procedures
  • Knowledge of contract documents
  • Knowledge of industry practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred :

  • Experience working with the Division of the State Architect preferred.
  • Experience with Expedition (Contract Manager) preferred
  • Salary Range : $65,000 - $78,000

    Location : Long Beach, CA
