SDC Position Summary
The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for educating staff on skilled nursing facility and long-term care rules, regulations, and standard practices. Their role also includes the following responsibilities :
- Participate in the completion of facility assessments determining the knowledge and skills required amongst staff to meet resident needs.
- Plan, schedule, conduct and oversee educational training as well as routine in-services for all staff.
- Review and update education routinely to reflect the most current guidelines associated to company policy and / or federal guidelines associated with long-term care.
- Assist with evaluating competencies and maintain all records and reports of trainings and evaluations.
- Perform any other additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Nursing and / or the Administrator.
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written and electronic communications.
