Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Director of Credit Administration to join our team! The Director of Credit Administration is responsible for leading and overseeing the bank’s credit analysis, loan processing, and loan servicing functions. This role ensures that the bank’s loan policies, procedures, and processes are effectively implemented to mitigate risks inherent in the loan portfolio. Additionally, the Director monitors the bank’s credit quality to ensure adherence to regulatory safety and soundness standards and oversees the workout of problem credits. This position plays a critical role in maintaining portfolio diversification and optimizing credit administration to support the bank’s lending activities. The Director of Credit Administration will also manage and develop our Credit Analysis and Loan Administration teams.
The responsibilities of the Director of Credit Administration include:
Credit Administration Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the credit administration functions, including credit analysis, loan processing, and loan servicing.
- Establish performance goals and provide ongoing feedback to ensure high team engagement and efficiency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain loan policies, procedures, and processes to support sound credit decisions and risk mitigation.
- Ensure consistent application of credit guidelines and policies across all lending functions.
- Work closely with leadership to establish long-term credit administration strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (such as finance, IT, and compliance) to ensure timely and accurate reporting of control assessments and audits.
- Chair the Credit Risk Management Committee (CRMC)
Credit Quality & Portfolio Management
- Monitor and assess the bank’s credit quality within compliance safety and soundness standards, proactively identify risks, and recommend strategies to mitigate potential concerns.
- Track and analyze portfolio performance, including asset diversification, to minimize concentration risk.
- Oversee the identification and resolution of problem credits, ensuring effective workout strategies and loss mitigation.
Loan Processing & Servicing Oversight
- Ensure loan processing and servicing operations are efficient, accurate, and aligned with bank policies and regulatory expectations.
- Implement process improvements to enhance loan administration efficiency and customer experience.
- Work closely with lending teams to ensure timely and accurate loan documentation, funding, and servicing.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for loan processing times, accuracy, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
Credit Analysis & Underwriting Support
- Oversee the credit analysis function, ensuring thorough due diligence, financial analysis, and risk assessment in loan underwriting.
- Support credit decision-making through data-driven insights and strong analytical frameworks.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and make recommendations to improve underwriting efficiency.
- Collaborate with relationship managers and credit teams to maintain a strong credit culture within the bank.
Qualifications
Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

10 years of experience in credit administration, credit analysis, loan processing, or related areas within a financial institution, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
