Job Summary
The Vice President of Microsoft Alliances is responsible for leading the strategic partnership between the company and Microsoft. This role involves developing and executing alliance strategies to drive revenue growth, expand market reach, and align with Microsoft's key initiatives. The VP works closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product, and customer success, to leverage Microsoft's ecosystem, enhance joint solutions, and maximize the value of the partnership.
- Manage a team of 5 resources responsible for growing Core BTS' Microsoft Licensing business.
- Consult with clients for Microsoft licensing analysis and optimization leveraging tools like Compass and Cloud Grid.
- Construct Microsoft licensing solutions based on requirements and analysis of client needs and licensing vehicles.
- Work with clients and Core BTS sellers to position an optimized Microsoft licensing solution.
- Build and maintain relationships with Microsoft peers to facilitate co-selling and escalation when needed.
- Participate in QBRs with clients to review current state of licensing usage vs. owned and make recommendations.
- Position Core BTS Advanced Managed Services tied to CSP subscriptions.
- Work directly with Core BTS sellers to drive growth and attach of Core BTS Microsoft services through insights from licensing discussions.
- Mentor and develop Core BTS Licensing Specialists.
- Maintain Microsoft licensing certifications.
- Manage a team of 3 resources responsible for optimizing Core BTS' utilization of Microsoft Programs for the benefit of our customers, prospects, and Core BTS.
- Oversee funding programs that offset cost for client projects
- Oversee FastTrack Program
- Oversee Microsoft Incentive Programs earned on the backend from client project work/FastTrack/CSP
- Help engage and develop partner offerings leveraging Microsoft's programs/solutions.
- Coordinate offering operations
- Marketplace configuration
- Enablement activities with Microsoft
- Oversee Microsoft Certifications/Specializations/Designations.
- Manage team through enabling the company for certifications.
- Manage team that organizes and aligns monthly milestones to ensure designations status.
- Manage team that handles co-sell deal sharing process.
- Manage process for co-sell alignment with sellers/Microsoft contacts.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience required as well as demonstrated continuing professional development.
- At least 7 years of experience in support Microsoft licensing business.
- 10 years of leadership experience
- Background in the Microsoft CSP business with proven track record of growth.
- Microsoft certification (MCP) for Microsoft licensing.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Programs, i.e., both funding and incentive programs
- Expert level knowledge in Microsoft Volume licensing programs
- Broad business acumen with a demonstrated ability to achieve goals with a high degree of self-initiation and independence.
- Demonstrated client management approach providing clients with long term licensing strategy.
- Working knowledge of Software Asset Management principles and methodologies.
- Expert level organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making abilities, and attention to detail
- Experience researching Microsoft constructs, programs, products, services, and policies.
- Proficient at using Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, and Salesforce.
- Collaborative and effective team player with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels.
- Business acumen, problem solving skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to direct, train, and mentor others.
- Extremely focused on details and quality of work, generating error free analysis and quotes for clients
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and establish credibility.
- Demonstrated ability to build alliances and leverage all available assets and capabilities to create the strongest and most competitive value proposition supported by technical and financial data.
- A high caliber business professional who is trustworthy and possesses excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience working in or closely with a large technology company, preferably within the Microsoft ecosystem.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience in performance measurement and data-driven decision-making.
In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
