Role Overview
The Certified Medical Assistant plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care within CoreCivic’s institutional healthcare settings.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer medications to inmates/residents under direct supervision of Health Services Administrator;
- Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and patient condition as needed;
- Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments;
- Assist nurse/physician with physical exams, procedures, and treatments;
- Engage in confined area functions, including working rotating shifts and verifying door, window, and area security;
Qualifications and Requirements
- State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment or meet state guidelines for exceptions to certification;
- A valid driver’s license is required;
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 20 years of age;
