The Emergency Response Coordinator serves as a critical point of contact for CORE and additional entities involved in emergency response. This role is responsible for facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective and timely responses to emergencies and crises. The Emergency Response Coordinator will act as the liaison between various teams, agencies, and organizations, helping streamline information flow and support emergency operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the central liaison between CORE and external entities such as local, state, and federal emergency response agencies, nonprofits, and other partners. 
  • Coordination of Communication: Ensure that key stakeholders are promptly and accurately informed about ongoing emergency situations, resource availability, and response activities. 
  • Support Emergency Response Efforts: Assist with the implementation and execution of emergency response plans, including the mobilization of resources, personnel, and supplies. 
  • Track and Report Emergency Developments: Monitor the status of emergency incidents and update relevant parties on changes, challenges, and progress in response efforts. 
  • Collaborative Planning: Work with emergency management teams, local authorities, and community partners to identify and address potential gaps in emergency preparedness and response plans. 
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of emergency communications, resource deployment, and inter-agency coordination. 
  • Training and Drills: Participate in and support regular training exercises, simulations, and drills to prepare for various emergency scenarios. 
  • Problem Solving and Issue Resolution: Address and escalate issues related to the emergency response as they arise, ensuring swift resolution to maintain operational efficiency. 


Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in emergency management, crisis communication, or related field. 
  • Skills: 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups. 
  • Knowledge of emergency response protocols, incident management systems, and crisis communication strategies. 
  • Ability to remain calm and make clear decisions in high-pressure situations. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal emergency response frameworks. 
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented approach to overcoming challenges. 
  • Comfortable navigating changing priorities and working under pressure. 
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to diverse cultural contexts. 


Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work under stressful and rapidly changing conditions. 
  • Ability to travel to emergency sites or other locations as necessary. 
  • May require availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays in response to emergencies. 


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, if necessary, to assist with emergency supplies and equipment. 
  • Ability to work in both office settings and outdoor environments during emergency situations.
