Revenue Cycle Specialist/Billing Specialist

Core Dermatology is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our Peoria Support Center. This is a full-time position that will be on-site.

Position Overview:

As a key member of our Multi-Specialty Clinic, you will play a vital role in optimizing revenue streams, ensuring accurate patient payments, managing claim denials, and providing exceptional patient service through phone interactions.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with Revenue Cycle Leadership to implement effective strategies for revenue optimization within the Medical Practice.
• Proactively manage and resolve claim denials by conducting thorough research, identifying root causes, and coordinating with relevant departments to implement corrective actions.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of insurance policies, billing guidelines, and reimbursement regulations to ensure accurate claims submission and processing.
• Utilize industry-specific software and tools to accurately document and track patient financial interactions, payments, and claim statuses.
• Respond promptly and courteously to patient inquiries and concerns via phone calls, providing accurate and compassionate support to address billing-related questions.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on healthcare regulations, compliance, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Minimum of one year of experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or a similar role within a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes, medical coding (ICD-10, CPT), and billing guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to patients in an understandable and empathetic manner.
• Detail-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving revenue-related challenges.
• Customer service-focused attitude, with the ability to handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally and compassionately.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic healthcare environment.

Salary Information:

This is a Non-Exempt position. The budgeted base hourly rate is $18.00.
