- Remediation System Design and Installation and Operation & Maintenance
- In-plant Compliance Audit Services
Summary:
Perform general labor activities associated with field sampling and data collection for site characterization/assessment/investigation. These activities include but are not limited to sampling, well gauging, advancing soil borings, installing and gauging monitoring wells, performing aquifer tests, maintaining remediation systems, measuring, observing and recording. Also, the role includes environmental site assessment, overseeing remediation projects and performing storm water sampling
Essential Functions:
- Implement field sampling and analysis plans.
- Perform environmental media sampling (soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, soil vapor, air, asbestos) in accordance with field sampling and analysis plans.
- Perform activities in accordance with health and safety, and quality assurance / quality control plans.
- Oversee subcontractor activities including drilling, Geoprobe, monitoring well installation, soil excavation, and remediation activities.
- Operate and maintain soil and groundwater remediation systems.
- Prepare soil boring logs and document field sampling and data collection using field notebook
- Install, maintain, repair and properly abandon groundwater monitoring wells and soil vapor points
- Perform remediation system operation and maintenance. Install vapor intrusion mitigation systems, perform diagnostic testing, and performance testing.
- Perform well gauging to measure depth to groundwater, well bottom, and thickness of non-aqueous phase liquid.
- Use hand tools and small equipment (e.g., powered core drill and hammer drill).
- Calibrate, operate, and maintain field instrumentation (photoionization detector, etc.).
- Prepare field notes documenting media sampling, remedial activities and other data collection.
- Perform regression analysis to evaluate trends in data.
- Enter data into GIS.
- Prepare photo documentation.
- Prepare data summary tables.
- Request sample containers and coordinate subcontractors.
- Maintain equipment and equipment inventories.
- Prepare field sampling and other work plans for various field activities.
- Prepare and implement field activity work scopes.
- Inspect and document compliance with project erosion and sediment control plans.
Education and Experience:
- 40 hour OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training is required. Training will be provided, if necessary
- Desired Education: 2 or 4-year science degree in an Environmental or Physical Science Field preferred
- Pennsylvania Asbestos and Lead Building Inspector Certification preferred, but not required.
- 0 to 2 years field technician or scientist experience

- AutoCAD/GIS skills, preferred, but not required
Work Environment:
Must be able to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
Some travel and overnight stays may be required.

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
