Samaritan Health Services has a Family Medicine Residency Core Faculty Opening
Samaritan Health Services a non-profit integrated health care delivery system, is seeking a Family Medicine physician to join as Core Faculty with our Family Medicine Residency Rural Track program in Newport, Oregon.
Academic Position Details
- 0.4 FTE spent in resident oversight and teaching, 0.3 FTE spent on administrative tasks for the residency program, and 0.3 FTE spent in direct patient care of a patient panel.
- Provide adequate clinical supervision levels to residents which are appropriate to their level of competency and training.
- Collaborate with the Program Director to maintain residency program accreditation standards and evaluate clinical competence of residents through established feedback methods to ensure eligibility for board certification.
- Participate in curriculum development, coordination, and implementation.
- Facilitate education through didactics presentations, simulation labs, attendance at regional and national conferences.
- Work collaboratively with community preceptors, adjunct faculty, and specialists within the regional medical system.
- Engage in any or all areas of scholarship and promotion of inquiry to contribute to the advancement of the discipline of family medicine.
- Participate in Faculty Development to enhance the effectiveness of teaching, administration, leadership, scholarship, clinical, and behavioral components of faculty members’ performance.
Clinical Position Details
- Average of 10 hours per week dedicated to direct patient care with 30-minute appointments.
- Opportunity to work inpatient hospitalist shifts.
- Well-established team of full-time clinicians.
- EPIC Electronic Medical Record.
- Telephone call only, with nurse triage.
Position Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine.
- Excellent clinical skills and communication skills.
- A strong commitment to providing evidence-based care that is team oriented.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
