What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Technician position at Core Government Services Corporation?

Job Description

Essential Functions :

Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques
Installs and configures network hardware and software. Provides network troubleshooting and support
Provides technical support and training to end-users
Administers network security
Backs up file server data / disks
Provides minor to moderately complex server maintenance
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
Participates in special projects as required

Requirements :

Active Security Clearance

Professional Certification in one or more specific technologies may be required to meet DoD IAT II Certification. (CompTIA SEC , CASP, etc.)

Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and support

Knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software

Knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications

Must have excellent verbal communication skills for interfacing with military and civilian personnel

Must possess a valid State Driver's License and maintain Fort Liberty driving privileges

Education :

Associate degree or 4 years network / system administration experience.

Experience :

AA : 1-3 years

VMWare : 1 year (Preferred)

Linux : 1 year (Preferred)

Working Conditions : inside office on Government site

Required Travel : Minimal

Work Locations : Fort Liberty, NC

Job Type : Full-Time

Work Week : Monday - Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)

Work Hours : 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements)

Overtime : as required

Contract Length : More than 1 year
