- We are seeking an accomplished Director of Marine Assurance to lead and enhance our safety, quality, and environmental management systems across all maritime operations. This role is instrumental in driving continuous improvement, mitigating risks, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices. The ideal candidate will collaborate with operational leadership and key stakeholders to develop and implement Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) strategies that promote a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

- Lead and mentor the Marine Assurance team to achieve safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to align marine assurance processes with company objectives.
- Oversee compliance with ISM Code, SIRE / OVID vetting, TMSA processes, and other maritime regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with leadership and fleet operations teams to integrate best practices in safety and quality management.
- Foster a proactive safety culture by engaging with crew and management, encouraging open communication, and reinforcing compliance.
- Manage internal and external audits, lead marine investigations, and conduct root cause analysis to enhance risk mitigation strategies.
- Drive initiatives for environmental responsibility, operational efficiency, and risk reduction across the fleet.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and performance development for Marine Assurance personnel to build a high-performing team.
- Director of Marine Assurance Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Safety Management).
- Minimum 15 years of combined shore-side supervisory and / or seagoing experience as a vessel officer, with expertise in tugboats, deck barges, ship assist, and towing operations.
- Strong understanding of International Safety Management (ISM) Code, marine investigations, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to influence safety culture across diverse teams and effectively communicate regulatory requirements in practical terms.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills, capable of managing complex projects and adapting to changing priorities. #LI-Onsite
