- Marine Service Engineer Job Summary
- The Service Engineer role is the technical service leader who performs and leads MRO in the field. This role will work independently or as part of a team. The Service Engineer will be responsible for implementing processes and procedures for servicing supported products / equipment and ensuring exceptional customer service internally and externally. This role also includes professional responsibility in delivering all tasks assigned to the company standard.
- Marine Service Engineer Responsibilities
- Demonstrates high-level fault-finding capabilities and a strong understanding of systems and controls to the point of being able to deliver high-level product instruction to customers and other employees.
- Can perform fault finding at both the electrical and mechanical levels and interpret complex electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Has the ability to create and develop control system diagrams.
- Can be relied upon to train junior field service engineers in all aspects of site work.
- Provides in-house support for system testing and troubleshooting.
- Provides high-level technical support, identifying the correct product to meet the customer’s process needs.
- Has the ability to install and commission standard controls, small systems, and actuation.
- Marine Service Engineer Requirements
- Familiarity with a variety of field concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
- EMD and / or MAK experience, 3 years highly preferred.
- 4-6 years of experience in a relevant field, plus a recognized electrical or mechanical certificate from a Trade School or Military Training Institution.
- Associates Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related area and 5-7 years of experience in the field or a related area.
