Our client seeks a skilled Gas Engine Controls Engineer to lead development and implementation of control systems for gas-powered generators and compressors. In this role, you’ll guide projects from concept through design, testing, commissioning, and full documentation. Strong knowledge of gas engine combustion, including air-fuel ratio, ignition, fuel injection, carburetors, and fuel metering, is essential. The primary focus is retrofitting and converting systems to Woodward programmable controls, along with integrating PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, AVRs, protective relays, and power management. This position involves up to 30% travel, with the remainder in-office.

Applications Engineer - Control Systems Responsibilities
- Automation control systems integration design, development and testing.
- Strong experience with Woodward/ Altronic / Impco control products and software.
- Strong experience in gas engine fuel systems.
- Provides Customer/Sales Support (TAG).
- Improving and exceeding project gross margin targets.
- Increased scope of work on projects to improve revenue.
- Safety accountability (safety observations and JSAs).
- Minimum 5 – 10 years in a gas engine engineering role.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office business software, Word, Excel, Power Point.
- Demonstrated self-starting ability with good interpersonal skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (in English a must, Spanish would be a plus).
- Willing and able to travel, primarily domestically.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering discipline is preferred
