Assistant Driller Responsibilities
- Assist the Driller in coordinating and supervising drilling operations to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Monitor and operate drilling equipment in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the drill crew, ensuring tasks are performed safely and effectively.
- Assist in maintaining and inspecting drilling equipment to prevent malfunctions and downtime.
- Monitor well conditions, drilling parameters, and operational progress, promptly reporting any anomalies.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with environmental regulations.
- Communicate effectively with the Driller, Toolpusher, and other crew members to ensure smooth drilling operations.
- Participate in safety drills, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in emergency response situations as required.
- Maintain accurate records of drilling activities and equipment maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in drilling operations is preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of offshore drilling experience, with prior experience as a Floorhand or Derrickhand.
- Strong knowledge of drilling operations, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Ability to interpret drilling instructions and operate drilling machinery efficiently.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Physical ability to work in demanding offshore environments, including working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid Offshore Certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET, RigPass, Well Control Certification).
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
