CDL Truck Driver Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty truck safely and efficiently to perform assigned transfer route duties.
CDL Truck Driver Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles in compliance with OSHA, DOT, and local / state regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections using Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR) and report issues for corrective action.
- Report unsafe situations, service calls, or incidents immediately to supervisors.
- Participate in required training sessions, meetings, and safety briefings.
- Work with supervisors to improve route efficiency and resolve safety concerns.
- Perform scheduled route duties, assist other drivers when needed, and ensure all containers are emptied and customer locations are left clean.
- Communicate customer requests or issues to supervisors.
- Ensure proper placement of containers without blocking driveways or traffic.
- Complete all documentation at the end of the route and report issues such as blocked containers or missed pickups.
- No formal education or prior work experience required.
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, background check, and motor vehicle record review.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record.
