Chief Mate -Tankerman PIC Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chief Mate with a Tankerman PIC endorsement to join our team. The Chief Mate will be responsible for assisting the Master in vessel operations, overseeing cargo transfers, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to safe and efficient cargo handling.
Chief Mate -Tankerman PIC Responsibilities- Assist the Master in vessel operations, navigation, and safety management.
- Supervise and coordinate cargo transfer operations, ensuring compliance with USCG, MARPOL, and company policies.
- Oversee and implement tankerman PIC responsibilities, including loading, discharging, and transferring liquid cargo.
- Ensure adherence to NAVSEA, ABS, USCG, and SOLAS regulations.
- Conduct safety drills and ensure crew competency in emergency procedures.
- Maintain proper documentation and records for all cargo and shipboard operations.
- Oversee deck crew operations, training, and daily maintenance.
- Act as the vessel's Safety Officer, ensuring compliance with ISPS and ISM Code requirements.
- Perform watchkeeping duties and oversee navigational operations.
- Ensure environmental protection measures and pollution prevention protocols are followed.
- Communicate effectively with shore-side personnel, regulatory agencies, and other vessels.
