Fabrication Welder Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge of weld electrodes and wire, machine settings, and oxygen/acetylene gas torches for cutting or pre-heating.
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and weld symbols.
- Set up and operate semi-automatic or automatic welding equipment.
- Assemble and tack parts as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain acceptable quality and quantity standards.
- Assist the supervisor in organizing and directing crew tasks as needed.
- Minimum five to seven years of welding/fabrication experience or completion of an apprentice program.
- Experience with aluminum, stainless steel, and copper-nickel pipe welding is a plus.
- Ability to pass a 3G, 4G Aluminum weld test on 3/8 plate to AWS D1.2 weld standards.
- Consistently pass UT/RT/PT weld joints.
- Proficiency in burning, welding, and operation of production machines and cranes.
- Knowledgeable in the operation of all fabrication and welding equipment.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members.
- Strong communication skills to instruct team members on project tasks.
- This position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.
