Field Engineering Manager Job Summary
This role combines the responsibilities of an Engineering Manager and a Field Engineering Manager, with aspects of a Project Technical Manager. The position requires expertise in multiple engineering disciplines and experience working in joint ventures (JVs). We are seeking experienced professionals with a strong technical background to lead engineering activities efficiently.
Field Engineering Manager Responsibilities
- Participate in the detailed engineering (FEED) phase, addressing construction-related issues.
- Develop the Field Engineering Execution Plan, defining resource needs and identifying planning challenges.
- Ensure coordination with the construction team (HSE, construction engineering, site material management, quality control, construction supervision, and commissioning teams).
- Manage site queries, including material substitutions, and consult with the Head Office or site engineering team when necessary.
- Maintain records of changes and additions to documents due to construction and commissioning requirements until as-built drawings are completed.
- Verify the accuracy and consistency of technical documentation received from the Head Office and distribute it to Discipline Superintendents.
- Oversee the analysis of engineering, materials, and construction nonconformities, involving the relevant Head Office departments to determine and approve corrective actions.
- Assess the technical feasibility of construction work, ensuring the availability of required documents and materials on-site.
- Coordinate engineering activities related to site procurement.
- Submit proposed design modifications to the appropriate Head Office department for approval before implementation.
- Manage Field Specialist Engineering activities, including document modifications, feasibility analyses, nonconformity resolutions, and test package approvals.
- Serve as the primary interface with vendor representatives, collaborating with Field Specialist Engineers or Discipline Superintendents as needed.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager to plan material collection from the warehouse, evaluating purchasing needs in case of shortages.
- Ensure compliance with the Louisiana Board of Engineering requirements.
