Hydrojet Operator Job Summary
The Hydrojet Operator will be responsible for operating high-pressure water jet cutting equipment to safely and efficiently cut through metal surfaces as part of an industrial demolition project. The primary task involves cutting a tank floor from a 60’ diameter tank, ensuring precision and compliance with safety protocols. The operator will work closely with the demolition crew to facilitate the removal of metal sections.
Hydrojet Operator Responsibilities
- Operate hydrojet cutting equipment to perform precision cuts on metal surfaces, including multi-layered tank floors.
- Execute cutting operations according to project specifications, including making two cuts across the center of the floor to create four separate sections.
- Ensure proper handling and setup of hydrojet machinery, including pressure adjustments and nozzle configurations.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE usage and compliance with hazard mitigation procedures.
- Inspect equipment before and after operations to ensure proper functioning and report any malfunctions.
- Coordinate with the demolition crew to ensure efficient excavation of the metal sections after cutting.
- Manage water flow, pressure, and debris control to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work completed and any issues encountered during operations.
