The Material Coordinator supports material planning and coordination for a large-scale project. Material Coordinator Responsibilities- Implement and manage the Material Management Plan.
- Coordinate material specifications, identification, and quantification with engineering and construction teams.
- Optimize material planning processes for key commodities.
- Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of materials to support project schedules.
- Identify and address potential delays related to approvals and engineering deliverables.
- Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to maintain efficient material flow.
- Monitor procurement activities to ensure timely purchasing and expediting.
- Work with engineering teams to verify material requisitions and ensure alignment with project needs.
- Assist in managing material fabrication and distribution processes.
- Provide solutions to mitigate risks affecting material availability and project timelines.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience OR 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong understanding of material management processes, procurement operations, and supply chain coordination.
- Experience in construction activities and work package structures.
- Ability to identify risks and implement solutions to maintain project schedules.
- Knowledge of engineering disciplines and material tracking systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access preferred.
- Experience working on large-scale projects with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
