What are the responsibilities and job description for the Insulator - Mechanical Insulation position at Core Insulation Contractors?
Under the direction of the Project Manager, Mechanical Insulators will install and replace insulation materials to pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems.
- Selects, measures and cuts materials needed for covering pipe and duct surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors
- Removes old insulation and disposes of it properly
- Effectively and politely communicates with other trades and customers to accomplish the scope of work assigned
- Read blueprints and specifications to determine job requirements
- Complies with all applicable standards, policies, and procedures, including safety procedures and the maintenance of a clean work area
- Promote safe workplace by participating in safety training, identifying job hazards, wearing correct PPE, and observing for oneself and others.
- Completes tasks such as loading, un-loading, cleaning, sweeping, and sometimes painting
- Conducts physical and accurate count of scaffolding, inventory, fittings, etc.
- Writes inventory descriptions and quantities removed from warehouse inventory for use on jobs
- Organizes inventory / equipment in effective manner
- Other duties as assigned
- 2-5 Years mechanical insulation experience, preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Possess a valid drivers license, insurance and/ or reliable transportation
- Travel as needed for out of town work
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of basic tools and their applications
- Ability and willingness to work long and irregular hours
