Job Description
We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will perform critical day to day accounting activities. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the Staff Accountant will be a key member of the accounting team and will be responsible for supporting month-end close, balance sheet reconciliation, capital asset accounting, year-end audits, and other ad-hoc projects.
The successful candidate will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, embrace challenges and have a high degree of intellectual curiosity. We are a seeking a candidate with a 'can do' attitude with a strong desire to learn and expand professionally. The position is based in Huntersville, NC.
Responsibilities
- Assists with month-end-close by preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts
- Prepares weekly P&L reporting
- Manages the monthly accrual process(es)
- Provides leadership in the monthly close review and analysis
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Provides accounting support for audits, mergers and acquisitions
- Assists in setting up Capital Assets and reconcile balance sheet accounts
- Supports all accounting functions related to payroll, tax, and leases
- Supports AP & AR departments as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum 0-3 years in Accounting/Audit assignments
- Highly skilled in math, accounting and financial processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
- Solid skills using Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
