Job Summary

Build relationships and develop plans to increase sales and profitability for targeted accounts focused on HDPE piping systems. Drive sales by creating, executing and communicating business plans to grow sales for Core & Main in select, targeted markets & companies. This initial position is for No dig, trenchless type applications and national companies emphasizing HDPE Systems.

This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle or a Personal Vehicle and such operation is done consistently more than 20% of the average work week. If selected for this position, Core & Main will run a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report. A requirement of this position is an acceptable MVR report.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

  • Develops and maintains business relationships. Strategically plans customer visits to cultivate relationships, perform presentations, offer innovative programs and communicate plans.
  • Researches, develops and acquires prospective, strategic account opportunities. Effectively communicates competitive strengths and develops strategy to acquire targeted business and enhance partnerships.
  • Liaison between customers and internal teams to meet client goals and strengthen partnership.
  • Develops and executes profitable business plans for managing existing and newly acquired accounts and implements those plans effectively.
  • Supports branches and conveys obligations translating to the field their responsibilities for fulfillment.
  • Collaborates and trains local branches in HDPE systems as well as account management requirements and terms and conditions of established agreements.
  • Partners with sales team and other key corporate personnel to communicate account plans, pricing, and assistance with sales growth goals.
  • Participates in local and national trade associations and conferences as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age or older
  • Must pass pre-employment assessment(s) if applicable

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in the piping industry (preferably HDPE piping)
  • Proven relationship/sales growth history
  • Strong communication, presentation & negotiation skills
  • Ability to become proficient in Mincron, Microsoft Office products, business opportunity analysis and strategic planning
