The Driver Training Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our drivers by providing expert training and coaching.
As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for designing and delivering training programs that equip drivers with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
This includes developing and implementing training curricula, conducting training sessions, and evaluating driver performance to identify areas for improvement.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation logistics and a proven track record of success in training and developing others.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver training programs for drivers on all aspects of the delivery driver job duties
- Utilize company training guides, manuals, checklists, and processes to ensure compliance with company policies, practices, safety, and DOT regulations
- Conduct preferred work method observations and provide verbal and written feedback on driver trainees' performance, including suggested development actions
- Work closely with new driver hires and experienced drivers in classroom and/or field settings to prepare them for a successful professional driver career
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license
- 2-4 years of transportation delivery driver experience specifically in the foodservice industry
- In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations
- Working knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies and practices
- Computerized fleet operations management systems knowledge
