PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Technical Team Lead will be responsible to ensure a smooth production start-up for required times determined by operational needs at least 30 minutes prior to shift start. Team Lead will effectively control and support production processes, ensure production of quality parts, focus on safety objectives, train employees to production and quality standards, and to lead other employees to achieve company goals.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- The position will be permitted to perform limited bargaining unit work as required
- Responsible to help reduce risks of creating repeat quality and production flow issues
- Serve as relief person when employees need breaks
- Perform training needs for newly hired employees or job bid awards within the area of responsibility
- Identify and report to Supervisor training needs to coordinate with the Trainer Coordinator based on Core training matrix of the position and department
- Active participant in correcting defects found during the shift or customers
- Review quality alerts with team members working in the work cells
- Print Order boards and lay out production sheets at the assigned functional area
- Change tips on bond dispense robots and manual stations
- Turn on all ovens, purge then initiate to correct temperatures so that they reach proper temperatures before the designated shift arrives
- Run machines through sequence and/or dry cycles to ensure proper function
- Coordinate employees to production
- Fill in start-up sheets for all areas identify any potential issues
- Contact Maintenance on any issue they are needed to fix to minimize downtime
- Teach pendant all robots to make sure they are homed and in the correct position for all functions
- Turn on lighting and ensure proper equipment is in place (impact guns, rivet guns, gloves, sandpaper, etc.)
- Ensure two-gallon paint tanks are filled, agitating and ready for dispensing
- Confirm all WIP is in place by Material Handlers for production changeovers
- Follows all required safety standards, wears appropriate PPE for job activities and maintains production equipment in proper and safe working order.
- Assist Supervisor with shift start up-such as: material distribution- Gloves, sandpaper, confirm proper manning, ensuring all tools are the press to perform process, replenish supplies, and confirm P-Sheets are available
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Normal circumstances: Ability to lift or carry up to 40 pounds in a single lift/carry. Limited lifting above the shoulders and below the waist.
Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds in a single push/pull. Standing continuously up to 2 hours, for a total of 8 hours per day. Walking continuously up to 2 hours, for a total of 8 hours per day.
Use of hand tools intermittently up to 8 hours per day. Other intermittent activities will include bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting/turning up to 6 hours per day.
Ability to drive a forklift and other industrial machines. Ability to be medically cleared for respirator usage.

Level of Education: General: High School Diploma or GED

Job Related Work Experience:
- Training of other employees
- Two or more years working in molding and/or assembly
- Excellent communication skills
- Good Attendance Record
- Team leadership experience (preferred)
- Ability to pass written or demonstrated qualification tests in work area.
- Strong knowledge to read and explain process sheets.
