Job Description
The BI/ERP Analyst will provide operational and development support for internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) processes in a multi-plant and multi-database repetitive production-based manufacturing company. The analyst will provide help desk support, user training, knowledge based documentation, and development for ERP dependent processes including production reporting, inventory management, purchasing, accounting, etc. They will help deliver business intelligence reports by gathering user requirements and translate them to technical specifications. They will work with other analyst to provide backup support for EDI, order management, customer management, and pricing. They will ensure critical procedures and controls in the ERP system are followed to meet SOX compliance. They will participate on project team to develop datawarehouse for the ERP system including requirement gathering, schema mapping, and testing. They will participate on other project teams to improve current processes or develop new ones. They will maintain and update ERP system policies and procedures.
The candidate should have prior experience supporting and implementing multi-plant ERP system in manufacturing industry; experience creating BI reports using a major BI package; detailed oriented and strong documentation skills; working knowledge of ETL processes; strong desire to share knowledge through training and documenting; and strong team player.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Help desk support to ERP end user in a multi-plant, multi-database ERP system on internal processes including G/L accounting, cost accounting, inventory control, purchasing, manufacturing, etc.
- Gather user requirements and translate them to technical specifications for BI report development
- Test and document current and new ERP procedures in knowledgebase.
- Train end users on ERP best practices
- Backup support for EDI
- Backup support for IBM i Power server environment
- Requirement gathering, schema mapping, and testing for data warehouse development
- Enforce internal controls and provide documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance
- Participate on project teams to support business improvements or find new solutions
- Proficient in supporting CMS or similar ERP system
- Experience in BI report creation and BI project management
- Knowledge of cost accounting and general accounting concepts
- Detail Oriented and strong preference to produce documentation
- Self-motivated
- Strong analytical and communications skills, both verbal and written using Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint
- Ability to diagnose and solve problems
- Prior knowledge of EDI processes/integration
- Experience with IBM Cognos
- Supported IBM AS-400 based ERP system
- Implementation of ERP system in manufacturing industry
- Implementation of a shop floor management system and integration with ERP
- Implementation of MRP system
- Knowledge of PLC integration in ERP
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of SOX compliance
- Working knowledge of Cognos or similar Business Intelligence (BI) report writing tools
- Technical writing skills such as Process Flow, Business Process, User Work Instructions and Application Support documentation
- Understanding of ETL processes
- Experience with IBM iPower system environment
- Experience with TLi software for EDI (TrustedLink for iSeries)
- 5 years’ experience supporting ERP systems in manufacturing industry
- 5 years’ experience with Cognos BI or similar BI package
- 2 years’ ERP support of cost accounting and g/l accounting
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS or other related field.
