Duties and Responsibilities
- ERP Support & Administration
- Provide help desk support for ERP users across multiple plants and databases, assisting with inventory management, production reporting, purchasing, accounting, and other key functions.
- Train end users on ERP best practices and new system features.
- Develop and maintain ERP documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure system consistency and user adherence.
- Support ERP software upgrades, patches, integrations, and system enhancements in coordination with the IT team.
- Assist with ERP-related audits to maintain compliance with SOX regulations.
- Reporting
- Gather business requirements from end users and translate them into technical specifications for report development.
- Support data integrity efforts by identifying and resolving discrepancies in reporting and ERP processes.
- Collaborate with business leaders to optimize data reporting and visualization for improved decision-making.
- Data Warehouse & Integration Support
- Participate in the design and implementation of a data warehouse for ERP reporting, including schema mapping, data extraction (ETL), and testing.
- Provide backup support for EDI systems and IBM i Power server environment.
- Work with IT and business stakeholders to integrate ERP data with other enterprise systems, such as MRP, Manufacturing Execution System (MES), shop floor management, and PLC systems.
- Process Improvement & Compliance
- Support project teams focused on business process optimization and ERP system improvements.
- Ensure internal controls and best practices are followed in all ERP-dependent workflows.
- Maintain and update ERP documentation for compliance, operational efficiency, and user training.
- Technical Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience supporting ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with cost accounting and general ledger (G/L) accounting in an ERP system.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve ERP-related issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting.
- Working knowledge of ETL processes for data integration and migration.
- Soft Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail, especially in documentation and system controls.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with users across departments.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience implementing or supporting IBM AS/400-based ERP systems.
- Prior experience with EDI processes and integration.
- Experience with MRP, shop floor management systems, and PLC integration within ERP environments.
- Project management experience related to ERP or BI system enhancements.
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance requirements for ERP security and controls.
- Up to 25% travel may be required for on-site support at manufacturing locations.
- Initial project support (first 6 months) may require up to 50% travel.
