What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fixed Equipment Engineer position at CORE PROJECT MANAGEMENT LLC?
Core Project Management is seeking to hire a Fixed Equipment Engineer for a long-term project in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area. The ideal candidate will closely monitor the needs of operations and assigned units while providing leadership and training to the areas’ maintenance staff. They will be responsible for developing detailed work scopes for equipment fabrication or repair, with careful attention to safety, environmental impact, budget, inspections, and timelines. Additionally, the candidate must be capable of reviewing and approving engineering drawings and calculations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide mechanical engineering support for all fixed equipment assets within assigned areas of responsibility.
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology.
- Optimize inspection strategies and develop repair plans to improve long-term equipment reliability.
- Analyze inspection results, evaluate the remaining lifespan of fixed assets, and recommend repairs or replacements using life cycle cost analysis.
- Ensure all recommended repairs are consistent with applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
- Support RCA’s on bad actor equipment and high criticality equipment failures.
- Identify improvement opportunities, track equipment history, and update maintenance procedures as needed.
- Maintain a consistent presence in operational units to oversee processes.
- Possess strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with a focus on fostering team development.
- Utilize SAP, Meridium, and other software tools to support planning, scheduling, and coordinating of inspections and other mechanical activities.
- Communicate status updates effectively to supervisors and leadership, including the development and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Show a solid understanding of inspection compliance management.
- Be available for scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
