JOB SUMMARY : Design and direct the implementation of individualized treatment plan and a behavior intervention plan, which is individualized to each child or adolescent, and to family needs. While maintaining some direct contact with child and family, the BC will work in collaboration with other members of a treatment team. The BC will adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding design and implementation of behavioral intervention plan.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other assignments, projects, and duties may be required :
1) Work with a variety of clients with autism, behavior disorders, or MH diagnoses developing individualized treatment plans, behavior plans and interventions, supervising BHT on the case and interfacing with all members of the child's community to implement treatment interventions and support.
2) Model appropriate behaviors, coordinates clinical information / direction with other professionals and agencies.
3) Collaborate with treatment team members to discuss progress relative to the goal areas described in the individualized treatment plan, complete all necessary assessments, and make recommendations for the next service period. If you are considered the lead clinician on the case, it is your responsibility to gather information and recommendations from school personnel, if school services are requested, effectively communicate the services between the schools and the parents, also with other service providers and agencies involved. Everyone involved with treatment needs to have the knowledge of a general overview of all services implemented. It is crucial that you collect all supporting data and documentation to support the requested number of hours.
4) Develop data collection procedures and analyze data monthly to monitor progress in treatment goals.
5) Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) annually and / or update as needed.
6) Following agency guidelines as outlined in the CORE Psychiatric & Psychological Services policy and procedure manual, Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) manual, and agency correspondence that are distributed that address company procedures and / or employee conduct. Adheres to professional and ethical interaction policies and procedures.
7) Maintain client records in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations and protect those records by following agency policies regarding privacy of confidential healthcare information.
8) Behavioral Consultant will provide assessment such as program design and monitoring rather than direct therapy.
9) Exercise a high level of professional conduct when interacting with family members, other agencies, school personnel, and community entities.
10) Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Individuals who provide BC services shall meet one of the following :
1) Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a Behavior Specialist.
2) Have a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
3) Have a graduate degree in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credentials Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
4) Have a minimum of 1-year of full-time experience in providing mental health services to children, youth, or young adults and a graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or Counseling.
5) Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field.
Individuals who provide behavior consultation to children diagnosed with ASD for the treatment of ASD shall meet the qualifications for an individual who provides behavior analytic services or behavior consultation.
